Eating Out in Sydney

Gatoni Cafe

Maz had insisted that Marine & I go to Gatoni Cafe to try a cheesecake, resulting me dedicating a post to this place. Now is wasn’t JUST an ordinary cheesecake, but a Ricotta Cheese Cake, and it is the fucking BEST one you will ever have in your god damn life. It is to be found in Castle Towers, opposite the Lisa Ho store. This stuff is the fucking bomb, it has bits of toffee and layers of other crap – I am allergic to cheese, but sacrifices need to be made!!! Love it, or DIE!!!

They had a blue berry cheese cake as well, which I liked to, and was quite good – but that Ricotta Cheese Cake above is the be all and end all of all desserts. Seriously.

Chai Tea Latte, you can’t get them in France, so ma copine enjoyed it as much as she could. It was like the lemon, lime and bitters, we didn’t really stop drinking them. Therefore, go to Gatoni’s Cafe, fark!!!

The Outback Steakhouse

Now, some of you might turn your nose up at the Outback Steakhouse and it’s attempt to scrounge any sort of Australian anything and commodify it to become some sort of culture, but the food is good. It is in fact great in comparison to anything I have eaten in London. But you MUST order the fried mushies with the garlic sauce. You can feel your ass grow as you eat them, but they’re seriously good.

We were into the healthy tonight, beans and mash with their best tender piece of cow.

The problem was, it was so thick and tender, that if you order it rare – the inside was much too bloody. I reckon if it is thick, go for medium – because if you ask for rare, you’re practically eating frozen cow.

Ma copine has never had a pavlova. I was actually happy to just buy her one from woolies, but the Pavlova from the Outback was quite nice, and oddly well presented. Wasn’t at all what I expected, but she loved it, I guess that’s all that mattered.

Ma Biche’s Cooking

But as I mentioned in previous posts, we noticed our sudden weight gain. I lose weight easily, that’s not really a problem for me. However, some don’t lose 2 kilos a day, so my dear woman cooked my sister and her husband, as well as I, a healthy dinner. It was very nice, she is a good cook ma biche (thank god). It’s odd though, I have pretty much cooked for everyone I know, but I have never cooked for her. Strange that. I have just always thought it was a woman’s job, and I guess when I cook for my friends, that dichotomy simply doesn’t exist. But damn, that was good dinner.

  1. I think you need to tell the good people who led you to the most amazing ricotta cheesecake ever
Also, that pavlova looks SO good

  2. Outback Steakhouse, totally not you, but some exceptions can be made for good food aye. Will edit it.

  3. Thank you :)
yeah I won’t go to that place for the pav but I will make it in that style at home!

  4. Yeah, well it doesn’t look anything like the Woolies one, so I was a bit shocked at the shape, but Marine loved it … meh, women …
